What is Refacing?

plus

Refacing is the installation of new doors and drawer fronts on existing kitchen cabinets and covering the exterior of the cabinet boxes to match the new doors. We can also install new drawer boxes, slide outs, and organizers to increase your kitchen's functionality.

What are the doors made from?

plus

Our doors consist of a 3/4" HDF (high-density fiber board), covered with a heavy, durable, low maintenance vinyl.

How much does it cost?

plus

The cost of Refacing varies from kitchen to kitchen, depending on size and chosen options. Generally, Refacing will cost about 40% less than a brand-new kitchen of the same size and quality. We have seen kitchens cost anywhere between $2000 - $32,000.

Can I add slow close to my existing drawers?

plus

Unfortunately, no. The slow-close mechanisms we use are integrated with the drawer box side itself. A new drawer is required to gain this feature.

Do you use real wood?

plus

No. Because wood can expand and contract with temperature and humidity changes, it is not the most suitable material to be used in Canada and especially Alberta.

Do you refinish cabinets?

plus

No, we do not spray, paint, or stain cabinets.

Isn’t Thermofoil bad? Won’t it peel?

plus

The industry standard for heat resistance requires that doors withstand 24 hours at 120ºF (49ºC) and 70% humidity without showing discolouration, blistering or other material failure. Our doors and drawer fronts exceed this standard. Our average heat resistance is 185ºF (85ºC); the range is 175ºF–210ºF (79ºC–99ºC).

Where do the materials come from?

plus

We can proudly say Canada! Quality cabinet doors and components for your Refacing projects are made in London, Ontario.

Can I reuse my existing hinges and door handles?

plus

For warranty reasons, we install new, top quality, soft-close hinges. But, we will reuse your existing handles or knobs if you like.

Can you reface bathroom cabinets?

plus

Yes! You can Reface more areas of your home than you may think. Reuse existing cabinet boxes and save time and resources updating not only your kitchen, but your bathroom, home office, laundry room, and garage cabinets as well.

How much does a quote cost?

plus

Quotes are free and take about an hour to complete. At the end of the appointment, you will be given your quote, no waiting!

How long does it take?

plus

Our Refacing projects typically take 1-4 days to complete, but your exact project length will depend on the size of your kitchen and the accessories you choose. From the initial consult to installation, the full process takes about 6-8 weeks.
